Task Force Looks to Improve Parity

In March, President Obama issued a memorandum on mental health and substance use disorder parity wherein he established a task force comprised of multiple government agencies, such as the Department of Labor and the Department of Health and Human Services. The aim of this task force is to improve mental health and substance use disorder parity by finding gaps in guidance, promoting best practices for compliance and implementation, and implementing actions to advance such parity. The task force will present its findings to the President before November 2016, which will then be made public.
